Helix downpipe rattling!!!

I ve had a helix dp for a few months now. The first few months it made no sounds. Now the damn thing rattles constanlty specially with the a/c on or when i start moving the car from first gear. Its not rattling against the bars but against the opposite side of the downpipe against some metal part. Anyone have the same issue? Anything i can do? Im also using the stock hangers also. Thanks

I have the Helix and also had the same issue as you. whats actually "rubbing" isnt the lower portion of the pipe against the tie bars , it's the upper portion of the same section of pipe hitting the body .

If you remove the DP you will see exactly what I am talking about, and where it is rubbing. Also when you take it off , you will notice the "coating" on the DP isnt there anymore.

FIX : Have a exhaust shop "heat up" the pipe and have him bend it in a way so that it doesnt rub nor rattle.

you can also have him do this to the catback if yours isnt sitting correctly and burning the bumper. just have him "heat up" a section of the catback and force it into the location you want . wait for the pipe to cool down and set itself in its new location and your done .

hope this helps

heat wrap the downpipe and that will fix your problem and lower heat transfer in the process.

Yep, exactly what I did and it works great. A simple $30 fix and it should be wrapped anyway, IMHO.

Luis this is Miguel not Eddie! I dont want to change the TP i just want to stop the rattling. I think it started after i installed the Helix catback it might have moved up everything a bit b/c it never did it when i had the HKS Hi-power. Let me see what i can do. BTW ill be calling you soon so we can do my clutch!

for those of you that heatwrap your DPs, aren'y you worried about trapping too much heat and cracking the DP?

I have the kartboy hangers but didnt put them on b/c the downpipe moves around too much. I dont have those round metal pieces that go in the holes and couldnt use the stock b/c they were too small, where can i get bigger ones
?

You don't use the metal bushings for the hangers. Dp moves around? Mine is very tight.

I didnt have any issues with the dp until I did my clutch. Now my dp is against the oil pan. Also my exhaust rattles all the time.
