TRE final drive gears.

Hey guys.

Is there anyone out there who can make a new chart like this one:

but add in the TRE final drive gearset info as well?

Here is a breakdown of the TRE final drive gear info:

Speed at 7500 RPM
1st = 50
2nd = 75
3rd = 105
4th = 138
5th = 190

RPM uppon shifting into next higher gear from 7500 RPM

enter 2nd gear at 50 mph = 5000 RPM
enter 3rd gear at 75 mph = 5355 RPM
enter 4th gear at 105 mph = 5701 RPM
enter 5th gear at 138 mph = 5451 RPM

Thanks,

Keith

And 1 = 1st Stock, 1T = TRE 1st, etc...

They also go in order up, so the first two lines are 1st Stock then 1st TRE then 2nd then 2nd TRE, etc...

They may not be EXACT but they are damn close.

This is one thing I definitely am interested in and have been watching.. After I get the car to the point that I can use the gearing (improving low RPM torque)

It does seems nice. HKS also makes a final drive gear for around $700 I think. To install either gearset would not be tough and could be done by yourself. I was really thinking about it as well... mainly for the fact that I will have to shift out of 4th gear very soon in the 1/4 mile. Right now my guess is at relatively low boost (25-27ish) I should be hitting around 125 or so. That is pretty deep into 4th gear. So I will either need to start revving the damn thing to 9k or lengthen the gears. Lengthening the gears would also make it much better in all the gears considering right now it takes less than 3 seconds to completely fill 3rd and 1st and second are just retarded fast. I would like to have much more mph in each gear... I may do it shortly, if i do I will let you know how everything turns out.

By the M Jack, I may ask you some questions regarding the Utec shortly... mine will be here Thursday and i plan to have it installed and tuned before Sunday to race.

This gearing looks very interesting. Is there a benefit using this gearing with a stock turbo or is it better suited for a bigger turbo?

It would be much better for any turbo imo. Our gears are extremely short for the power this car puts down. You can obviously tell the car was designed for an all around sporty car (Auto-X, Road Racing and Drag Racing). It depends on what you use your car for really... if you have more power than stock by 70hp or more I would say this upgrade is bad ***. If you are damn near stock than stock gearing would be better. If you get a larger turbo the stock gearing sucks. Like in my case, My first gear is pretty much useless, second gear is damn near useless, third gear goes so fast I can not tune with it which leaves me to 4th to actually tune.. you do a few pulls on the local freeway from 4k to 7.8k in 4th and see how many you get away with

If you make decent power, the gearing becomes more and more to the point of being too short. Stock they are bad *** gears but much over stock and they start to hinder you more and more. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the input. So, which final gears where you thinking of going with HKS or TRE? How much do you think a shop would charge to get this installed?
