Holy crap that thing looks crazy. Lot of work went into the design obviously, but Im wondering why is the friction surface so small compared to stock and other aftermarket clutches, is there any benefit to that?

Question is , IS your opinion based on the fact that you sell Exedy and QM ????
I have been quoted over 1700 on an Exedy Twin. I'd be interested in your price as you stated its MUCH LESS. PM me if you will

I'm not quite sure why someone would choose a QM over a Tilton if the price is the same. It's expensive to do a clutch job on an Evo, so why not invest some money in the clutch itself, rather than on the labor changing them?
The cost for a better clutch is high. The value of a better clutch isn't as apparent to people until they experience it first hand. Hp increases are where you feel a difference, that's why there is more money spent in cams, MBC, Exhaust, etc. For the cost of a good Twin ou can almost buy all of the things I just mentioned. Bang for the buck brothers.
Also, your average user will not need a twin disc clutch. Unless you are putting out the power or racing, the choice will always be to spend money in HP, not in controlling or tranferring it to the wheels.

The Tilton disks are small for weight reasons. There's not reason for big disks when the smaller ones can hold the same amount of torque.

John,
That's my point; most owners don't need to shift at very high RPM but would love it if they only knew what they were missing.
I would like to see everyone get a twin disc so they can enjoy the experience but the cost is prohibitive to the average owner.

well, I was all setup to get an exedy, but after installing several in other people's evos I just wasn't that impressed. It seems the quartermaster or tiltons are going to be the way to go. Could you guys elaborate on the specific differences between the two since they obviously both convert the car to push-type release?
Also if the vendors could provide quotes via PM for a Tilton or Quatermaster full cerametallic shipped to 60440 please.
