The HKS downpipe fits the 05's perfect. I had one on mine for 3500 miles. I just swapped it out for a TurboXs downpipe.

well dont get me wrong. it fits and it works it just has some vibration sometimes.. makes my car sound rickety

i had a similar prob on my Evo Ix.. changed a new one.. problem gone.. conclusion, the old downpipe was slightly bent out of shape.

I have a Fujitsubo on my IX and no clearance issues. The quality is exceptional.

I have also been told that the Tanabe and Espilar fit the 05 and 06 with no problems.

I wonder if the vibration would be eliminated if i installed a torque dampener..

are you going to be able to take pics of the gasket/spacer you made , also did you just buy them at a parts store?
