JIC DP installed 05 GSR..pics

Installed the new JIC Bullet DP for my 05 GSR.

There are clearance issues with the lower tie bars. JIC provided spacers but all they do is allow it to touch the DP. Rattles a bit. Plenty of room around the oil pan and ACD. Pretty common to touch the tie bars though from what everyone posts.

I emailed them to ask what they think.

That kinda sucks. 2 bottlenecks at each end. There are other ones that don't taper at all. You should look into them. I have the UR downpipe and no tapering at all.

The Tanabe DP on my 05 cleared everything without a spacer.

well, for what its worth, better than no DP! I plan on doing a dyno run next week if I have the cash. Before the DP I was at 227.3awhp on a mustang dyno.

way 2 go! i have the same DP and exhaust. i love the sound and power it makes. i had a RMR DP<without tapers> didnt experience any difference in power or torque. ppl just see that taper and freak out. JIC makes a very good DP-exhuast. WAY 2 GO!

my hks does not have that problem on my 05, instead of hanging to low and needing spacers it sits too high, and the the top of it is rubbing against the subframe near the cat..depending on engine acceleration positions......

as far as the tapers go, it matches the output of the stock O2 housing up front, that donut gasket ( is that what its called ) fits right into the opening of the DP so that eliminates that restriction, and the aft end goes into the stock cat, another restiction. I dont have a prob with it.

I kinda wanted to stay with one company rather than mix/match parts. The JIC does have a nice sound.

I would actually go with a slightly thinner spacer on the bar that is rattleing. If the bar is tight against the downpipe (not bending the bar tight, just firmly touching it) you will cure the rattle problems.

227 w/o DP....This is the new design from JIC. I believe the old one did eliminate the CAT
