Checking transmission oil level?

Question Checking transmission oil level?

I was trying to check the 5sp oil level and need to know if there is a way to check to be sure it is full. I really don't want to drain it and put back in the three qt's, I just need to know if the oil should be level with the fill plug or a little below? I have a very small leak a the t/c to trans mounting location and am pretty sure it is the trans so I need to check both the trans and the t/c levels.

Pull off the fill plug with the car level. The oil level should be even with the lower part of the hole and is considered full when it begins to seep out. The same applies for the transfer case and rear diff.

Thanks, my trans oil came gushing out! Which makes me wonder of the dealer did not overfill the trans and it is leaking out b/c of that.
