That log is from the Zeitronix unit but I also have the Utec as well.

As for AMS's kit not being as laggy explain how that is Id like to see how it is different. It is not a kit in my car either... I bought the turbo from Precision Turbo and the manifold and 02 housing from Ron Shearer. I will get some logs of a 3rd gear pull and a 4th as well for you guys. And the reason I didnt have those right away is I never thought to bother... the only reason I had this one is because I was trying to figure out why I couldnt hit more boost... not logging to show lag. I just read a post about lag and figured I would throw one up there

Hey Trinababe, .. do you experience any issues with the ECU cycling it's ignition by up to 2 degrees during high boost >23 psi ?? .. I experience this at around 4500rpms with ignition timing cycling up to 2 degrees .. and the car bucked like a bronco ..

Wondering if this is something the stock (mine is flashed ecu) ecu has problems with or just a bad flash ..

I have complete control over my timing so it cant actually fluctuate unless I tell it to. I could look through some logs and see what the stock ecu tries to do though.. Ill let ya know if I find anything like that.

Here is a side by side spool up my setup vs trina's at 100 RPM increments in 2nd gear starting at 2500 RPM.

RPM - - - - Trina - - - - - Keith
2500 - - - - .5 - - - - - - - .1
2600 - - - - .3 - - - - - - - .4
2700 - - - - .4 - - - - - - - .2

5300 - - - - 15.4 - - - - - 14.6
5400 - - - - 16.4 - - - - - 16.1 (my Wastegate starts to open here since I am running lower boost)
5500 - - - - 18.6 - - - - - 17.7
5600 - - - - 19.2 - - - - - 18.1
5700 - - - - 20.5 - - - - - 18.9
5800 - - - - 21.3 - - - - - 19.5
5900 - - - - 23.0 - - - - - 19.8
6000 - - - - 25.3 - - - - - 20.1
(my bost remains 20 psi from here till redline)
6100 - - - - 25.5
(trina's boost remains 25.5 from here until redline)

Looks like our spool up in 2nd gear is virtually identical up till my wastegate starts to open. What kind of setup do you have again? Also, have you data logged any 3rd or 4th gear pulls from low RPM yet?

Thanks,

Keith

In third gear you are at 18+ psi by 5000 RPM. This is a comparison of my car and trina's on a 2nd gear pull.

Finally some realistic spool charts, Im getting tired of all the b.s. on how a gt35 gets full boost by 4000rpms. Also a gt35 is a gt35, I doubt your going to see different spool up because its a different kit, maybe slightly of course.

35r gets 35psi by 2500 easy.

No for real that looks about dead on. That is exactly how my car spools as well. 4th gear I make 23 psi by like 4500 and 28 psi by 5500 or so. I have to look again and do more tests to be exactly sure. I have an AVCR for boost control.

I also noticed that when trying to increase my boost beyond 28psi to 30 psi the turbo would only make full boost in 3rd gear on. BTW I only make about 25-26psi in first gear roll outs. I am not sure if this is because it doesn't have enough to spool it that far in 1st and 2nd or if my wastegate spring is just too soft. It's probably better that I stick with 28psi anyhow.

Now this is where a 2.3ltr or 2.4ltr comes in handy.
Its a hard time having a Honda spool a 35R its a little harder for a evo.

I think every tuner should have a graph like this available to explain trade offs to customers. Three well tuned cars: 16g, 30R, and 35R.

Yes, race fuel on all three. No nitrous, no stroked motors, no methanol injection. The 35R is built and can rev like a raped ape.
