not reccommended. no AWD dyno in hawaii , and no one will attempt it here, say its too dangerous to try. not like wrx where you disconnect front axle.

Buschur Racing converted their shop Evo into RWD by disconnecting the front drive shafts. If you run your AWD car on a 2WD dyno, something is DEFINITELY gonna break.

How about running the car on the front wheel only? I have seen some EVO's running on 2wd with no problems. I would like to know what they changed so we can run the EVO on a 2wd dyno.

buschur had a modified transfer case that converted their cars to FWD. when he got rid of his 2wd dyno, he sold off his transfer cases. lucky for me I scored one!

just find an AWD dyno before you break something. you really gonna swap transfer cases just to dyno and then swap back?

Why don't you contact AMS, they just put down 750whp to the front wheels on their EVO. That is how they dyno all their cars (EVO's and DSM's). They sure don't seem to break anything.

Its not that we dont want to keep it a secret how to convert an evo for 2wd dynoing, its just that the process is very in-depth and should not be tried by someone who has anything less than advanced tools and knowledge to try such. We don't want to be the person who told someone and they in turn tried it and really F-ed their sh*t up .

Its one of those things that is just better to say "it should only be attempted by professionals". If anything, because its not easy to judge a strangers mechanical apptitude over the phone. This would be better for a good smart DIY'er to write up about.

Just wanted to let everyone know where I'm coming from as a shops point of view.
