Dave, are you saying that the boost gauge is off becuase of changing atmospheric pressure? I know my gauge was spot on with the DD dyno sensor when i dynoed....and if your theory was correct, when the weather changes, my boost gauge would show me different boost levels, like 28psi when i was normally running 25...right?

I never see this, just wondering if im understanding you right.

Also, good work on the turbo....lets see how it works out. Also, why did the turbo make much less boost when you bolted it up than the stocker was? Just because of a different wastegate actuator, or what?

Thanks

Those pictures of that stock turbo are awesome! I can't wait to see results from the 20G.

Instead of relying on the A:F ratio, just look at the datalog of the injector duty cycle to tell if you are outflowing your injectors. If your injectors aren't maxed out at 100% IDC, then your fuel pump isn't keeping up.

Sorry about the off topic post Dave.

Sorry for another off-topic post, but hopefully this will save this thread from 20 other "subscribing" posts.

For the people who don't understand what Mike just wrote above, the picture below shows how to subscribe to this thread w/o posting a reply. I bet you we'll still see a few people posting "subscribing" posts after our two posts..

NYREDEVO,

New dyno is getting delivered Thursday morning at 10 am. Then it has to be installed and wired.

EVO007,

Yes, the pricing is going to follow the same as the 21g. It is the same turbo, just has the proper sized wheel now and seems to work.

deadbeatrec,

The turbo is going to be between $800 and $1500, depending on how you want it built or if you have a good core or not. Power, I don't know, haven't dyno'd it or run it at the track yet. Yes, it bolts to the stock manifold. I won't sell them until it runs what I think it should at the track or on the dyno.

gsujeff55,

No, the way you said it is backwards. The boost gauge is going to read the same, the AEM MAP sensor is going to change. On a day that the AEM has "perfect" weather the sensor would read closer to -0-, on a day when the weather is horrible the gauge is going to read a higher negative number, thus giving a lower boost level. The gauges always read -0- to start.

shapegsx,
That isn't correct. I am not using 02 feedback in the car. The injector duty cycle that is set is what it is going to run regardless of anything else. When a larger turbo goes on the AFR's without using some type of o2 feedback won't correct themselves. That is why when I bolted the turbos on in the past and didn't see the AFR's go leaner I had my doubts about it flowing more air. Now with this turbo and the same duty cycles the AFR's got leaner by a full point, this tells me the turbo is flowing a lot more fuel. See what I mean?

BTW, tried to copy the log onto a disc, won't work for whatever reason. I have a little memory stick that works and will bring it tomorrow and post the logs.

p.s. Elmer Fud never caught Bugs Bunny.
