Soft sidewall tires (basicly all the bias ply drag tires) absorb alot of the innitial shock of the clutch engagement, but have so much stick, you can't break them loose.
so what happens is you sorta "load up the tire" like you wind up a spring on the first split seconds of the launch. The car starts to move a bit, and as you get a tire rotation out or so, the energy you stored in the tire by twisting it up, gets put back into moving the car forward.
Drag Radials generally have a much stiffer sidewall and while they have tons of stick, they don't wrinkle up and absorb energy as much and are harder on the driveline. But they don't eat as much mph on the top end.
conversly, those hoosiers soak up some hp going down the track too. you definatly gain ET from the traction, but most guys find they run a couple mph slower compared to normal street radial tires.
The bias ply tires are lighter and also baloon up a bit more than radial tires..this can be screwy with the gear ratio.

That's the new housing I have been talking about. The wastegate in our normal kit turns up closer to the manifold, it is a v-band clamp so it just swivels. Then it has a bunch of clearance for the stock radiator.

I HATE electronic boost controllers. Every manufacture has something different, each one take longer than the last one to figure out how to use, gain buttons, scramble buttons, 1 setting, two settings, overtake BLAH BLAH BLAH. Honestly, if a car come into the shop with an electronic controller on it and WE have to set the boost for tuning...it gets unplugged, a manual controller goes on, we set the boost and do the tuning. We then let the customer know what boost level we ran the car at and that is where we recommend he sets the boost controller up.
There was one excellent electronic boost controller in my opinion. The HKS EVC EZ, the first one. Had one knob on it, turn it up or turn it down. Worked perfectly, it has been replaced now with a version 2, has one for low boost one for high boost. Works very good too and there is no confusing screens, settings, offsets etc.
Did I say I don't like electronic boost controllers?

**The turbine housing has an integrated port for the wastegate and accepts the Tial 44 mm gate, V banded to it. Beautiful. NO boost creep at all.
2. Will the o2 housing you have in your kit work with your buschur dowpipe?
Yes. It bolts right up to our current downpipes.
3. What kind of blow off valve are you using? (Couldn't see one in the pics)
We do not use a BOV on our race applications.
4. Can you maintain the stock A/C system on the car with this kit bolted up?
YES! Absolutely, A/C and power steering are completely uneffected by this kit.
5. Can one retaine the factory radiator or is the one in the pics needed to
bolt the kit up? If its needed, can the car be driven on a daily basis?
YES! Abolutely, you can also fit the larger/thicker than stock radiators in there too, no clearance issues.
6. What fuel pressure regulator is that? Do you sell it? If so how much?
We sell a bolt on FPR kit for the EVO. Can go on the stock rail and any aftermarket rail I have seen. We use the SX and Aeromotive regulatos. Both good quality.
Last but not least, no pressure on answering this just yet, this one can wait....

**We finally have our manifolds back in stock! Each and every one of them are ceramic coated to keep the heat in and rust off. The turbine housing itself is actually stainless and so is the 02 housing. They are not coated but can be.
This kit is complete with coated manifold, GT35R, oil line kit, SS 02 housing, Tial 44 mm wastegate, dump tube kit etc. Drops right in, no cutting, grinding, relocating. COMPLETE kit is $2995. This is EXACTLY the same kit that we used on the black car and ran 10.12 at 141 mph. This was done at 32-33 psi of boost.
