This causes the positive battery voltage applied by the engine control module (ECM) to be grounded to the body via the clutch pedal assembly. Upon detecting this signal, the ECM makes fuel injection volume corrections during a shift change, thus reducing the discharge of hydrocarbon (HC) emissions associated with insufficient release of the accelerator pedal." - 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII Technical Information Manual, 13A-4.

Because now it's a map, not a separate parameter.

Because it's not up. I'm going to post up several more templates. With launch and methanol control. So people can upload 1 big map or two medium ones or 1 small and one bigger, etc,.

Great feature! I can't wait to see the face of my next driving instructor when I blast down the main straight and don't lift to shift, hehe...

Proof that sometimes the simplest solution is exactly what all of us are looking for. Afterall, we're driving Evos, not über-engineered German imports.

Any estimate on when launch control will be a parameter, instead of a map?

No estimate yet. But hopefull this month. We are also working on turning the SMART fuel threshold map (the map which dictates when the SMART fuel system turns on/off) into a parameter as well. This will probably happen at the same time since it's a condition parameter as well (If, then, else). This, along with a few more changes should allow us to add another 3-4 tables for people who want a FULL-featured map (with SMART everything, 2 or 3 stage launch control, NOS control, Methanol injection control, etc,.) in both map banks, switchable on-the-fly.

Yes, I am really stupid!!

Ok, if it wasn't for ASASIN79 on EVOM I would be totally lost. When it comes to this stuff I am really stupid and I have no problem admitting it.

So let me get this strait. Once the LC/NLS is activated it is always on, right? No switches or anything. I hope it is always activated becuase I dont want to have to worry about flipping a switch.

Once you press in the clutch for the LC you will have a rev limit to watever you set it at, right? On the NLS when you shift and keep the foot on the gas the RPM does drop or not? I understand the LC but not the NLS. How does it work?Sorry guys, flame away of you need to. I would love to sit on the boards all day long but work and children don't let me. SO I have to depend on answers from the GODs at Vishnu and the followers of THE SHIV.

Thank you for your time

from my understanding the no lift shift works the exact same way the launch control worls.....as soon as you press the clutch in to activate the 1st sensor it activates the rev limiter that you set.....so if you set it for 6000 RPM then it will drop it down to 6000 and not allow it to pass that until you are no longer pressing the clutch. That makes sense to be since most people shift near or at redline actually dropping the rpms down to a more clutch safe RPM is very beneficial. Especially because you won;t have to blow off your boost

The above is correct!

The LC/NLTS is currently a MAP but eventually will just be a setting in the software. Once you turn it on its on.....and you wont notice it unless you rest your foot on the clutch pedal while you drive. Its somewhat idiot proof because you also need to be at +X amount of throttle position. Trust me LC/NLTS is practically required for a turbo car....you will never be able to go back. Though it does take a little getting used to .....not letting off that is.

Quick Reply: So this is Launch control/NLS?
