If you have a stock mas air meter with a stock ecu, then the IAT is in the MAF assembly. The intercooler will have no bearing whatsoever on those readings.

that's what i thought. that's the reason i asked where the intake temp was measured.

really, i had no idea that the air temp sensor was in the MAF. i thought it was one of the sensor on the intake mainfold. that's where honda puts their's or in front of the throttle body.

that doesn't seem to be a good place to put it since it won't show heat soak from the intercooler, IC pipes and intake manifold.

yep - on a stock MAF equipped car, that's exactly where they put it...inside the MAF. The MAF's job is to read the airflow (and all related aspects of it, including temperature) that passes through the MAF, Only on MAP equipped cars (as far as I have ever seen), is the IAT sensor placed in the intake manifold

I'm curious to see what the internal fin configuration is. This intercooler is clearly a replica of the AMS, with probably the same core (3/8 3/8 stack with internal and external louvered fins). This is without a doubt an off the shelf core with the price it's being sold at.

i was mainly interested in the lower intercooler pipe, and the intercooler will support future mods. stock IC may be able to support 400whp but unless it's at 100% efficiency, you can all ways improve on it even though you will never reach 100% efficiency with air-air IC.

internal fins looks the same as every other bars and plates IC i've seen or used.

a buddy of mine said that these were made from turbo xs. its outsourced from them. same shop but different name so they can sell it cheaper. my buddy has it on his subaru and exact same quality and everything. compare the xspower to the turbo xs. xspower makes two different size intercoolers i believe

I spoke with the guys at Turbo XS last year at SEMA and they would love nothing more than to rip off the heads of the people at XS Power and deficate down their throats.

THAT INTERCOOLER IS JUNK. just like everything else SSAutochrome makes. why do you think they made a new name on ebay??? something should click in your head when your paying 180$ shipped for an intercooler and piping. even with 9 year olds welding it, which is probably how its made, The quality is still complete garbage. there manifolds suck, there turbos suck, there wastegates suck, why would you think they're intercooler would be any different???

with a standalone that uses an aftermarket inlet air temp sensor you cant really tell us much.

BUT I CAN TELL YOU THIS. THERE ARE NO FAST CARS IN THE COUNTRY RUNNING ANYTHING FROM SSAUTOCHROME OR XSPOWER. AND ITS NOT BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL SPONSORED EITHER...
