When using metal headgaskets you will want the smoothest surface possible in order for the headgasket to seal.
While it isn't something I'd go back and change now that the engine is together, but it is something definately worth mentioning if you have any sorts of headgasket sealing issues in the future.
Those markings are more than fine on an old school (iron) engine, but these newer engines with aluminum heads require a very smooth deck/head surface.

I think someone wants to buy the car when we are done with it. I want a C6, but I don't think we can afford it. I think instead we are going to buy another S14 since I am going to compete in Formula D next year with Dan. We also need a 2 car trailer.
