Once again..Buschur Racing Dyno Thread.

Here we go again About 8-9 months ago I started a thread where I did a bunch of testing on our parts. Took my 2004 RS from stock to Stage 4 plus on the dyno and put up the results.

Today it began again. New car, new dyno, probably new results.

Last time I concentrated on the results/gains from each part. I will be doing the same thing this time. It is going to be interesting to see the parts tested on a real AWD dyno this time.

Below is the first baseline test. The car belongs to Keith McDonnell, it's his brand new 2005 RS. We will be building the car from stock to Stage 4+EMS+GT35r. These are all parts he already had that were taken off of his 2003 EVO. We are just putting this new car back together for him. (THANKS KEITH!!)

Next post I will let you guys know what you are looking at, the chart is hard to rear.

As you can see by the results at the bottom, peak HP was 210 whp, peak torque was 213 ft lbs. Peak boost was 19.63 (upper red line) falling to 16.51 at redline. The AFR's as you can see on a stock EVO are just horrible. From 4,000 to 4,400 rpm is the only place they are even close to what you would want to see. They end up running richer and richer until at redline you are at 9.8:1 AFR's.

Next up we will be putting Stage 1 on the car and re-flashing it. I am hoping to get that done in the next 24 hours and posting some results.

Enjoy guys.

Yep, it's a bit ambiguous to look at. (never looked at a MD chart before)

Gains per part/stage seems to be what everyone is most interested in. No better way to show it than on a 4wd MD.

My rig will be on your dyno this Sunday. Looking forward to it!

Let me ask before anyone else does (and you know they will) was this done in 3rd gear or 4th gear?

Now that you have a baseline on at least one bone stock 05 EVO we have a rough conversion factor for comparison. Assuming the car is healthy and making "normal" power levels at the crank shaft of 276 HP peak we get a conversion factor of .76 In other words, take the at the wheels dyno number and devide it by .76 to get an estimate of crank HP.

Thanks,

Keith

Wow, that's a nice printout. I like how all of the pertinent data is on one page.

It's also interesting to see that the '05s are tuned a little bit more aggressively than my '03 was (my stock AFR was off the chart rich - read: somewhere around 9, and stock boost was 19psi).

The pulls were done in 3rd gear. The dyno works so well at loading the car correctly that the AFR's stay the same in 3rd and 4th gear. No sense in beating the crap out of the car in 4th gear for doing pulls.

I base lined another 2005 this morning too. Yours and his were within 5 whp of each other. He had a little more power but also had a little more boost as he already installed a Turbo XS BOV.

What are the Filter mode and Filter values? Is that the same as "SAE correction" factors?

Too many of those pesky customers get in the way for you to get to the stage 1 today?

Not complaining, I realize how swamped you must be with all the customers for the dyno tunning sessions with Al and wanted to bump the thread in case you lost track of it

No time to do Stage 1 on your car today. Non stop on the dyno.

The filter value is the smoothing. It goes from 1 to 99. Not sure what the other is. Both are like they came from MD.
