AEM EMS and the Stock Turbo

The thought of using an AEM EMS has eneter my mind and I was wondering if there are benefits to using it on a stock trubo vs a flash? What exactly does it do better in terms of drivability and spoolup? Gas Milage? Can you set a launch control to that it ONLY works at launch and not in every gear?

I am also wondering if you need to use larger injectors on an AEM EMS vs. the stock ECU as it is less overlap when it opens and closes the suckers. ALSO I hear that if you want to run 30PSI, the EMS has an issue with its spark at that level and then you need a coil on plug ignition.

I am looking to max out my stock turbo with some ALKY, but I want to make sure an EMS is worth the cost of entry.

EMS can do everything your stock ecu will do plus alot more,
about your spark question at 30psi, you will need to upgrade your ignition regardless of which ems you use AEM or stock.

Oh boy thanks guys. I just heard osm issues with needing to run LARGER injectors cuz they open and close faster so you need larger injectors and also ignition is compromised. People can hit 30PSI on the stock ignition and ecu from what I have been seeing.

Sounds like what I have going. Dave did the tuning with the EMS and added some extra safety measures with the alky. It's my daily driver also.

AEM EMS is IMO the best mod you can do....with the proper tuning your car will run smoother, get better gas milage, idle perfect with aftermarket cams, and ofcouse the car will be faster.....

30psi on a stock turbo is no problem on the stock ignition. You just gotta change them plugs a little more often. its been done and proven.
