Installation of Forge Wastegate Actuator

I installed the Forge Wastegate Actuator today and I cannot go over 14psi. It also hits 14 psi at around 5-6k. I have delayed boost and low preasure. I installed the unit in the same location as the stock actuator. Is there anything I need to adjust on the Forge unit? When attaching the actuator's lever to the wastegate, is it supose to be in the closed position? With the stock unit I was peaking at 22psi and going around 18-16psi at redline. I am using the Halman RX Pro boost controller. Before anyone asks the vacuum hose to the actuator is connected.

Here are some pictures of the installed unit.

In this picture the actuator's lever has the wastegate shut.

This is just another pic of the whole unit.

If anyone has any suggestions please help. If you need a better picture or something I can go out and take one.

There are different springs you can put in the actuator. What strength spring do you have in there right now?

the blue spring which is 14-18psi. I opened up my boost controller as far as it could go and nothing helps raise the boost. I think maybe I installed it wrong somehow...

Don't you need to close the MBC to raise boost?

close open whatever... either way on the knob did nothing I also had left the the boost controller at the same setting before taking off the actuator.

Try taking out the cotter pin on the wastegate flapper and turn the turnbuckle on the actuator so that it is tighter. I bet that will help your situation.

Problem is fixed. It turned out the boost controller was being flakey.

You will likely need to play with the adjustment of the unit.

The turnbuckle at the and of the rod needs to be turned in towards the body of the actuator to add pre-load to the spring in order the turn up the boost.

If the turnbuckle is turned out, away from the body of the actuator, too far, you will not be able to increase the boost!

Boost still dropping at redline after Forge Wastegate Actuator Install

This post is not to slam the product. I was having these problems before the actuator. I feel the engine is building boost quicker, so thats a positive. I can't hold the boost all the way to the redline. My boost peaks at 21 PSI by 4300 RPM, but eventually drops all the way to 14 PSI at the redline. I have done a preasure test and have found no leaks. Is there something I am missing with my setup? Here is a log of my 4th gear pull.

there is a "little" hole on the wastegate nipple on the hallman, just drill it out a little bigger....and you will stop the tapering

Correct me if I'm wrong Mike, but to set it up right with that spring, he needs first to run a straight boost line from the turbo to the actuator. This way you know you are working off of spring pressure alone. Then keep tightening the actuator til it will produce about 15psi all by itself.

I set up the Forced Performance actuator on my WR in a similar manner on my car. However the FP spring is stiff as hell. I was informed to set it up to hold 17psi only on spring pressure. I had to cut my boost solenoid duty cycles in half (via Xede) as my first run I hit 27psi where it had been at 23psi on the OE actuator.
