Noise is driving me nuts!

Please give me you input!

Went to the track for the first time 2weeks ago, did 2 runs. On my 2nd run i missed 4th (dont know what happend) but i ended up grinding, missing, ended up in 2nd gear, hit the brakes and i ran 14.6 @66mph (big mess).

Anyway, that night going home my car started to grind going into reverse. 2 days later driving home i hear a LOUD rattle sound like something fell off, i look under and nothing so i drove it home. 5 min later the noise has quite down a bit.

The noise: (not the tipical decelerating sound that all Evo's make)

Rattle when DECELERATING in gear (2,3,4..) louder in 2nd and 3th. If i get on the gas the noise goes away. No noise when ideling or in nutral or clutch in, but if im coasting and have the clutch in and try to put it in gear you can hear it (or if you put it in gear). Also if i decelerate in gear with the clutch in you still hear it.

Took it to dealer and they thought it was my tranfer case, so they replaced it and NOTHING, noise still there. Next week they will try the REVERSE IDLE GEAR (i dont think that will help).

Any thoughts?

Sounds like it could be one of your bearings in the tranny.

so they did the REVERSE IDLE GEAR and NOTHING!

They also replaced my 5th gear syncros because it was grinding. They said they inspected the trany and found nothing, so now i have to wait for the Mitsu rep and talk to him.

The problem we have with Mitsu is the their TECHS SUCK and don't know $hit about Evos!!!
