I'm thinking of getting the NGK Iridium IXs in 8 heat range.
They are pregapped to .32 but I think its to high
What type of gapping tool would you use on iridium.
It makes no sense how they tell you not to regap iridium
but make it in the wrong gap size...

That's actually with BR8ES, and I would say to try for the highest gap you can get without losing spark. I'd start with .024-.025 on the BR8ES with meth, then gap down from there only if necessary.

I run .29 with bpr8es at 20 psi... no problem so far and makes good power up top. I will try wider gap next time.

I guess I will try the pregapped Iridium IXs at .32 then.. hopefully my
ignition will help out and let me get a way with it.

i know Al reccomends BR7ES gapped to .025-.026 in the dynoflash forum, so using Al's tuning, i'd go with those. that is for mildly modified daily drivers(intake, exhaust, MBC)so with your mods, you should be good with these. plus, they're dirt cheap!

.021 gap is tiny tiny. Might want to try a hotter plug instead, especially with the meth, you should not have as great a need for a colder plug

but, everyones car is different with the tunes, and it becomes especially harder at altitude. Thankfully the car is very easy to change plugs with, so trying different combos is simple

What effect does an ignition amplifier (ala DLI2 or Sun Auto) have on desired plug heat ranges? Does it call for a colder plug like the BR8ES?
