VW and Audi can be "reflashed" using the new Revo performance programming options being sold through Forge Motorsports. Heres a link with the information http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/revo
This tool is similar to the Jim Conforti Shark Injector programming tool for BMW's which downloads and stores the factory program, then loads-up the perfromance program. The same tool then allows you to return the ECU to the stock code for dealer visits, then re-program when you get your car back. The Revo product offers a user defineable programmable option, as well as a full race programming version.
The beauty of the Shark injector and the Revo is that it can be adminstered by the owner and does not require sending your ECU to some tuner to get flashed. Hopefully this is the kind of thing we will see for the EVO in the future.

What about the EVO VIII FQ-300 option available in the UK? From what little documentation I have located about this model, other than the JDM driveline pieces that were omitted on all USDM EVOs (6 speed- AYC-ACD) the engine, intake, and exhaust are identical to what we have in our cars. The FQ-300 option is reported to raise the JDM EVO's claimed 276 HP to a claimed 300 HP. Seems that the improvements are due to ECU programming alone. Anyone out there able to confirm or refute these claims?

More FQ-300 Info from MMC UK website:
"For those requiring even greater power the FQ-300 (301.2 bhp) upgrade has a new low pressure exhaust system which allows the turbocharger to react quicker and hold boost for longer".
So we need JDM ECU flash and a low pressure exhaust system to achieve 301HP@6200 and 300lb.ft@4500?
How do we get access to this ECU or ECU map for reflash?
