Odd clanking noise from 2000rpm-3000rpm

I get a weird clicking sound from my car when it revs from 2000 to 3000 then it stops. Its hard to describe the sound but it sounds like it coming from the transmission. Help anyone?

Further investigations confirmed that the noise was coming form the head. which really sucks. and its worse now.
