Exedy Organic Clutch Review Needed
Does anyone have any experience with the new Exedy Organic clutch? I am considering this or the ACT street setup. The only posts on the subject have bad things to say about the ACT with high RPM lockouts and heavy feel. So, let's hear the dirt on the Exedy. If there is none, great!
I plan on autocrossing and daily driving my essentially stock Evo.

I was just going to post on this forum about this clutch.
I installed the exedy organic clutch over the weekend, along with an SS line and a shortened slave cylinder rod.
So far so good. It feels almost the same as stock and my car is a daily driver in NYC
I installed it with th CCI lightweight flywheel(special from Gruppe-S)
I'll let you know how its going in a week if you like.

Then at least let me tell you what i think so far
I have 200 miles on it already...been driving it everyday since the install
1st gear is a little trick to get into.
I chalk that up to it being a new clutch and not being broken in yet
I have taken it up to 120 MPH it hold well
so far no complaints

Any organic clutch is going to give of the smell when you burn it.
The cerametallic clutch will smell a little different and will chunk off when overheated. The reason that the Stage 2's do not last quite as long is the amount of friction material is far less then the organic. But the material used does last longer. So it is a trade off.
If you step up to a carbon clutch the friction material lasts about 4x longer then cerametallic. and As you heat it up the carbon actually becomes stickier.
Hope this gave you some info to make your decision.

Thanks... Thats one of my less favorite atributes of the stocker. It sucks enough to give your clutch a good baking without the fumes and jeers of onlookers holding thier noses.
