Can we use slightly missmatched tire circumferences, frt & rr

Is it rough on the drivetrain with AWD cars like ours when wheel spin occurs like say the front tires but not the rear? This one is answered, but next question anybody?

Would it be stressful on the system to use tires with just a slight difference in tire circumference between front and rear (no more than 1/2 cm of travel for every rotation of the tire).

Thanks for the Info.

Would it be rough on the Drivetrain to use a tire combination with just a slight difference in tire circumference between front and rear (no more than 1/2 cm of travel for every rotation of the tire).

Thanks for the Info.

You will ruin your AWD system. I'm not sure how long it will take to be thrashed, but in 12 years of driving AWD Mitsu's I have always heard never ever ever do this.

I've heard the same thing, tires must be matched and similar in tread depth.

Tires on AWD anythign have to be the exact same. It would be harmful even if you bought two tires at a time.

The mismatched circumference will either burn out your VCU or destroy the ACD clutchpacks in your center diff, depending on which evo you have... don't do it!
