I had a similar experiance with the install of my Fidanza Cam gears. I was told they are not Evo specific. My car seemed fine till like 5k rpm then was rough as hell. We called Fidanza direct and got it straight.

I will pm you the number of the shop that did the work, maybe call them I am sure they can point you in the right direction.

Thanks Turbo meg, would greatly appreciate that number, I called the mechanic a minute ago, and he said 150% SURE the dampner rods are in correctly and in the right direction, and that the cams were 90 Degrees off, so he re-set them, and will put on Alternator bracked # 3, and start it up to see. Need to talk to Fidanza BEFORE he/we start it up! the cam gears have been on there for 30+K miles without a problem. Will call Andrew at Dyno4mance also, as everyone else is at SEMA I think. Thanks again, will post SOON results, or problems I encounter today!

Again, I am confused, I dont see how it is possible to run AT ALL being this far off, and I even Had Andrew dyno it a couple months ago at Dyno4mance, wouldn't it have had issues there? I think either I am retarted, or completley missing something here! I had no idle/starting/cruising problems for 10K miles, just a damn vibration issue!

oh wait you have Fidanza Cam gears? I didn't notice that before. We had a similar probablem with them not lining up. Here are some before and after pics.

Here is the way we set them up the first time with Fidanza cam gears. As you can see the marks are off.

Now here they are after resetting them. It was a ***** too BTW. They still aren't dead on but they are very very close.

Here is an update:

This is why Andrew at Dyno4mance is awesome. When the mechanic looked at the cams, gears, it appeared they were 90 degrees off, Which they will if they are in the Evo HOLE!, The second hole is the DSM hole, and if the cams are in this hole, the belt will be OFF 1 TOOTH!. Would the fact they are lined up in the DSM hole, and one tooth off, cause the vibration? will update more soon!
