How difficult is it to replace the syncro's?

OK I got the part numbers. for a complete Synchro upgrade

3-4 Synchronizer Sleeve MR581388 Quantity = 1
3rd Synchonizer Ring MD770348 Quantity = 1
3rd Synchonizer Spring MR581389 Quantity = 1
4th Synchronizer Spring MR581389 Quantity = 1

5th Rev Synchronizer Sleeve MN168859 Quantity = 1
5th Synchorizer Ring MR581382 Quantity = 1
5th Snchronizer Spring MR581383 Quantity = 1
Reverse Synchronizer Spring MR581383 Quantity = 1
Reverse Synchronizer Ring MN168934 Quantity = 1

Standard Values
Input Shaft End Play: .05-.17mm
Output Shaft Preload: .13-.18mm
Center Differential Case Preload: .05-.11mm

Total price is about $160 in parts.

Who's going to be the first pioneer? I'll be doing mine in a couple of months.

You...are...the...man! Is there a reason to do, or not to to 1-2 and 2-3? One way or the other great work. I will probably tackle this after Christmas just so I do not run into any financial difficulties. I have a HUGE family.

Are there any other tips or tricks to do while in there to smooth things out?

Back from the dead. I just completed this job and it really was not that bad. It is striclty only for those with a lot of mechanical experience, but it is not rocket science. I figure that I saved a minimum of $650 doing it myself. The funny thing was that the syncros looked fine. It was the actual 5th gear that was messed up.
