Good work! It's definately better than nothing!! Here is some under-hood temps I gathered during the summer time.
Regardless if that box melts or not, look into applying some heat reflective barrier of some type on the outside. Once again, it's better than having nothing.

A two year update for the Haters...
My car has been on track in near 100 degree heat, and in stop and go traffic in 100 degree heat and had no problems with the plastic box getting too hot.
