I have seen some slip on race engines (toyota 22R/3RZ and Nissan K24) Nissan actually has a very nice solution for the problem. The slotted holes in their cam gears are slightly larger than the bolts holding them in place, allowing the use of a spacer inside th slots. The spacers are made with holes in different locations corresponding with different degrees of retard/advance. The spacers are very inexpensive and do not let the cam slip at all. The only downfall is they do not adujst every degree, more like every 1.5-2 degrees. Maybe someone is willing to make a similar set up for us power crazy evo owners.
