Another Dyno Result from Project Vivid EVO

Well...we hit the dyno again after some additional parts. Our last results show a increase of 13 hp with just the JIC catback from 232 stock to 245 with the exhaust.

We have now added a PWR Alloy radiator, Hot Earth Grounding kit, and a HKS EVC V boost control. We turned the boost up to 1.5 bar safely. Keeping the same variables as our baseline test of 232, we have now achieved 270.6 wheel horsepower and about 245 lbs/torque.

Next up...
Blitz 660cc injectors
Apex SAFC
Monster Sport Airbox and filter
Monster Sport downpipe
Kakimoto cat delete pipe

Maybe we will see 300+ WHP easy! Just a FYI, website is up and running with products being added every HOUR!!!!

Gorgeous, the rims and the gold decals really sets off the color white. Not too junky and has a serious look about it. The car looks at the right height too. Keep us posted on the dyno improvements. Can't wait until Vivid starts offering performance packages.

So much do you think 270 is at the crank on your dyno based from your experienes?

What do you think the car will run in the quater?

Have you added a downpipe and/or a test pipe?

Wow those rims are so sweet. I like alot How far short does the JIC exhaust come and will it melt the bumper?? Also, have you guys fitted the JIC exhaust header yet??? What gains come from that??

Interestingly enough an EVO8 in the hands of a DSM shop just posted a 12.59 @ 107.69mph with a 1.72 60ft.

They only had the car eight days, hehe. Yep, that's a 4G63T in there.

It's already dynoed an SAE corrected 298.4 HP with a few of the right mods.

How did the EVC V work for you guys ? I am getting a lot of boost spiking - the cars wants to come on very hard and then it backs off too much - - are you all using the JDM Kpa version or the PSI version with the extra adjustment? What gain are you using?

1. The exhaust fits fine, looks great, and sounds awesome. Plus it gave us a gain of 13whp

2. The 270 is NOT at the crank it is at the wheels, so at the crank it is probably in the 300+ range.

3. Thanks for the props on the wheels and roll call. We are going for the full JDM look like our WRX.

4. The header is sitting here looking pretty, hopefully will put it on this week. So Busy!!!

5. I think when we add the header, tune the AFC with the 660 injectors we will be EASILY at 300 WHP.

6. Downpipes from HKS and Monster Sport from Japan are coming in. They will be on the site shortly. With the addition of these, you should probably see about 10 more HP. Just a guess though.

7. Big Al - The EVC V is working OK, I have not had the chance to fool with the gain and all the settings. It is currently on a decent setting where no spike or only one pound or two are bleeding off. On the dyno graph it hits about 21lbs and backs off to 19.5ishlbs. I have the KPA one. I figure it helps me become global

Give me a ring and we can shoot the crap about the HKS and ApexI units.

Thanks

You shouldn't need the 660 injectors yet. In fact, the 560s (that is what it comes with stock, right?) should be fine for anything that the stock turbo can belt out.

After talking to a bunch of others, we are not putting the 660 in until the bigger turbo goes in!...

We should have some sound clips soon!

I agree - I say bump up the stock fuel pressure higher - possibly a bigger supra pump and then you can lean it out with the safc - - that way you can keep a nice idel and the crisp feel down low - - - after you get it all tuned if your injector duty cycles are way off the chart then you can look at some bigger injectors

BTW - my 565's were good for 375 wheel HP on my suby (sure the dsm and suby have different efficency ratings) and did not need 650's until i started to appraoch 400 wheel hp

For 300 plus wheel hp on the evo the stock injectors should be fine

I estimate that over 340 or so you will start to be neediong bigger squirters - right around when you need bigger turbo and stronger rods

Sounds like a plan Al

Hopefully once our Japan shipment comes in we will get the downpipe, header, cat delete pipe on and see some serious increases.

BTW - TONS of products have been added!!!
