Ok let me get this straight as I am a turbo upgrade newbie...
My stock Evo8 turbo is a 16G/9.8 housing.
This upgrade would take me to a 20G/10.5 housing correct? And this would only cost me $950?
What is the performance difference in hp/tq? Why do this instead of putting that almost $1K into a turbo upgrade kit?

For $950 your EVO8 turbo gets upgraded to an EVO9 20G. That's it, nothing else. You still need atleast an installation kit to do the install which is $175.
Yes, you could take this money and put it towards buying a turbo upgrade kit. I have those too. We have our GT30 and GT35R turbo kits, which I think are about the best on the market, for only $2995.
It comes down to what you want to drive, what type of spool up you want. What you want the engine bay to look like etc.

If you would be willing to be without your evo for two weeks and lose your stock turbo for $150, then you should do the upgrade, but it's not really worth it to me.
And, as far as the WGA, it is included with the Evo9-20G and DB said he could modify the Evo 8 WGA to work with the turbo without extra charge.
