Dave,
I got had you port my 10.5 exhaust housing. Love it by the way! What if I send my turbo to you to get modified to the 20g-9.
Do I get MY ported 10.5 exhaust housing back? Could I just keep it and send you the turbo without the exhaust housing to make sure things don't get mixed up? I have a 9.8 housing sitting here so I could send that along with it so you have it for exchange. What would you do in these case's?

I don't want you to send in an exhaust housing when you ship a turbo. No sense in making UPS rich with the extra weight. All I need is a turbo itself.

Dave,
When you say that the core used has to be in good shape, is shaft play allowed? I understand that you rebuild the turbo when this upgrade is done, will the turbo essentially be "good as new"?
How much does it cost to have the turbine housing and manifold ported, but not coated, at the same time as this upgrade?

Shaft pay might be O.K. The turbine wheel is re-used when we do this. If the shaft is bad when we get it apart then it is not a good core.
Porting the exhaust components are $75 for each piece.

Just currious Dave, but what method are you using to Balance these turbo's when you rebuild them to the 20g-9?
I've heard that the machine to properly balance the rotating assembly on a turbo is like a half million bux or some madness... Do you use something like that, or have a local turbo shop that does the balance for you?
THanks.

One more quick question for you Dave. This is mostly clarification. I have a almost brand new '05 turbo of my EVO 8 MR, 3,000 miles on it.
If I send this in to you, and you modify it. Will I get the exact turbo I sent you modified to the EVO 9 turbo then upgraded with the 20g wheel? Or will I get a random one that is modified and sent back to me?
Just wondering. Cause what if I get a turbo that had a lot more miles on it than mine had on it before the conversion and was not as in good condition as mine? And it fails on me 20,000 miles down the road?

Correct, we have them built by a professional turbo shop. We don't touch them.
phenem,
The turbo you send it is NOT the turbo you get back. The turbo you get back is 100% rebuilt and in a new EVO9 housing.

Well depending on how you sent it and when we got it it could be the same day. We have 20g-9's on the shelf now that we can exchange for guys sending in their EVO8 turbos.
