Call me a Vishnuite, but I would go with the Xede from Vishnu Performance. Plug and play with many maps available.

Have you thought about going with the Autronic PNP board...A buddy of mine has one in his evo and it does almost everything that the SM4 unit does...the only thing that it doesn't have is knock control... It allows you to eliminate your MAF and is INCREDIBLY easy to tune...If you have any other questions about hit me up and I can give you more info and/or give you the name of a good Autronic tuner...

Second that! Fuel and timing controls, data logging, plug-in to stock ecu, easy to use software, other nice features... can't beat that.

asking a question like this is like asking what the best flavor of ice-cream is...

so the answer is: the premium one that's on sale at a supermarket not too far from your house.

I second this. Plus, w/ the SMART system it's really easy to tune. The base maps are free and will work very well too.

The PNP board is sweet...It has a lot of the same features as the SM4 box...including anti-lag, datalog, fuel and igntion timing, boost pressure...check it out at... www.autronic.com

Agreed. Check out the XEDE with SMART.
It's adaptive tuning features takes it well beyond the capability of other piggyback systems.

It is also easy to tweak and tune yourself

With or without SMART, the XEDE is easy to use/tune. A lot of people use it simply as a "plug-n-play" solution (i.e. install it, download the base map for your mods/octane, and you're done), while others constantly fine tune their setup. Add to that a good user base and the fact that the product has been around for over 2 years, and it is, IMO, the best piggyback currently available for the Evo. Last, but not least, new features are constantly being developed for it (some by the manufacturer/distributer, some by us users).
