Blue Evo 8 gets all "Trixxed" out. 363.61 AWHP, 391.95 TQ with major boost leak!!!!

I'm on my moms laptop, since mine crashed otherwise I'd post up a dyno chart....
Anyhow, I got all my stuff installed:

HKS 280's
ARP HS
Camgears
SMC V2 meth kit running straight meth
ACT MB7-XTSS clutch, stock flywheel
Forge Wastegate (red spring)
NGK BPR8ES plugs
Buschur Motor mounts
AEM EMS - speed density
AEM AIT
AEM MAP sensor
K&N open element filter

mods on the car when I came in:

Espeilir DP
Test pipe
JIC Spartan cat back
HKS SSQ BOV VTA
HKS EVC 5 PSI model

Overall the results with meth were interesting and somewhat disappointing.
I have a huge BOOST leak from the flange of my HKS SSQ BOV and never knew it. I bought it used and the rubber O-ring was NEVER installed in the flange, therefore my BOV swivels round and round like crazy, herby causing me to leak boost all around.

Even with the boost leak at 24.5 PSI and dropping fast to 19 PSI I am laying down no less then 350 AWHP from 5300 RPM's all he way to 7500 RPM's which covers a broad power band.

I'm laying no less than 330 TQ from 4200 RPM's thru 6500 RPM's
my peak TQ hits at 5000 RPM which is 391.95 TQ
my peak AWHP hits at 363.61 at 6100-6200 RPM's

Troubleshooting:

Firstly, Mark was aiming to set my boost at 28 PSI and hold as much as we can from there. That was not happening since we maxed out the HKS EBC, and boost was not going above 24.5....

The solution here is that I had set my EBC's warning setting at 24.5....thats why we couldn't make any more boost.......

To to solve the problem, I will buy a new O-ring, have it installed, check for boost leaks and return for a retune on my AEM....

I will raise my warning level on my HKS EBC now to like 29.5 or so and see how much better the car does with an extra 4 pounds of boost and no-boost leaks and a retune. I'm shooting to be as close to 400 TQ, 400 WHP as possible.

Thanks for reading.

I forgot to mention there was a guy from VA with a similar set-up as me making 398.XX AWHP with like 397-8 TQ..so I was optimistically looking to be where he is numbers wise

Drivin impressions:

The car sure is noticibly faster...although i didnt get to gun it but the exhaust note is more aggressive, I can hear the turbo spool thru my open element cone filter, and my BOV sounds different as well.

With the Bushur motor mounts I notice a lot of stiffness and vibration, but I'll get used to it.
I also know that my DP is hitting against the lower arm bars, therfore I will inspect it and see if I can add washers where necessary.

The ACT XT clutch is noticibly stiffer from stock, but not overbearing at all...

You might want to set the alarm on the boost controller higher than 28.5 if you trying to run 28 psi. Maybe 30-31 psi because of boost spike. I set mine to 29 when I was trying to run 26psi and I went from 12.24 to a 12.03. I had mine set at 24.5 also on High because I used Low for valet. MY alarm turns the boost down 10%. I use the GReddy, but yours probably has the same features. If not disregard what I'm wasting my time typing right now I went to turn the boost up with race fuel and the alarm kept turning it down. That day at the track I forgot to turn up the alarm also resulting in 12.24 best run @ 112.

thanks 4 the advice... I read HKS's user manual for the EBC and it says if I want 28 PSI to be peak boost then I need to set the warning buzzer 1.5 PSI higher....therefore at 29.5 PSI...

not bad. How much was the SMC kit + installation?

Also, was the other guy who put down similar numbers running AEM?

SMC kit was $420 thru a group buy
Installation was $350. I was going to atempt this myself, but decided to leave it for the pros...

yes the other guy was running AEM as well.

I dont know if he had any other mods though, that helped him hit close to 400WHP/400TQ ....he didnt disclose any other info.
