I don't see much advantage to the carbon unless it is mated against carbon. With carbon on steel clutches, you are at the mercy of the limits of the steel just like you are with cerametallic clutches. The only advantage is lighter discs and smoother engagement, but those advantages come at a high price.

I wouldn't call it the perfect clutch for drag racing in most cases, but that depends on many factors.
Who want a brand new RPS. Im going to try the ACT. and see what happens.

Actually.... Tilton has powered many faster cars than the fastest Evos. Take Titans supra for a good example. ACT has held cars like Brent Rau and John Shepherd. There are plenty of companies to choose. Talk to each, see what kind of support they have for thier clutches, how much they cost and how well known they are. I am using a Quartermasters clutch now. The reason I didnt go with Exedy is because of thier little release bearing. I have heard of too many failing. I needed to get something with the hydrolic type bearing that Tiltons or Quartermasters uses. At the time, Quartermasters was much easier to get ahold of and I knew a few people that could stand by it. Tilton also seems like a solid choice... I just cant get over the crappy release bearing from Exedy.

I like the tilton carbon/carbon for a strip car only, but if you do any "real" street driving I would go with a exedy triple ceramic imo !
