grind in 5th gear

i have a slight grind going into 5th gear when i shift fast with the clutch all the way down.

the only way it wont grind is if i do it slow and left the rpm drop...

what is wrong?

btw : mods are kartboy shiftbushings (the ones that go on the base of the plastic cage) 2003 with 4k miles.

yep...that is it.... i wanna take my car to dealer before my warranty is over....but i m kinda skeptical about leave my car at dealer for couple of days for just fix 5th gear....and im afraid they might do something wrong while they are working on it...i would rather not let them touch anything. well....i ll just shift abit slower .....and you dont even use 5th gear at the 1/4 track anyways......

yeh, that's why I've been putting mine away.

5th gear only grinds at high speed shifting.

but I would rather have my transmission working 80% then having 100% be messed up by the dealership.

Adjust the rod at the pedal assembly for higher release point. If it helps, inadequate release is the problem. If it nets no improvement, then it is something else. Adjustment is definitely the first thing I would try.

^ Agreed...But it does sound like the syncro. From my experience once I had Mitsu rebuild my tranny (TSB Fix) it was worse. Some guys have had luck though. It will get worse if you dont fix it, so its up to you.

Just get your syncros fix right away, My TC and tranny was all replace under warranty a year ago. The more miles you tach on the more mitsu might think its abuse. You think couple of days are bad mine was at the dealership for almost a month.
