Oil leaking from IX MR

Oh goodie. I got up this morning and pulled out and it looks like my IX peed all over the driveway. Little oil spots everywhere. I know it could be the drain plug/crush washer....BUT, when I got up under the car for the first time, there was oil that was sprayed on the undercarriage. Thought it may be grease slung around from the U-joints. Cleaned the oil off from around the oil pan and filter area. I remember seeing a couple of oil leak threads. The oil is DEFINITELY not coming from the valve cover as it looks like the oil is BELOW the head...so somewhere below the head. Any thoughts? Info? I am going to lift the car today and check it out but that is later this afternoon. Figured I would check here first.

check your tranny drain plug. I left mine loose once and lost about 1/2 Quart but it was really messy under the car.

Tranny drain plug?! I haven't touched crap! It now has 2K miles on it and the only thing I did was change the oil. I will look for it tonight. But wow! If it was loose from the factory I am going to be pissed!

Oil leak

My crush washer was leaking on mine and oil cooler line loose but no leaks.
Also the clip that holds the wastegate fell off and was on the splash plate.

So, how soon after you changed the oil did you get an oil leak? Did you reuse the crush washer?

Honestly, I can't remember which crush washer I used. I don't know if I reused the old one or used the new one.....

I got home late tonight picking up the kids and all so tomorrow I will just change the oil.

You'd probably remember if you changed it as the washer was stuck to the drain plug with black paint on both of the Evos I have owned when I did the first oil change. It takes some effort to remove it.
