Buschur Racing dyno day results and observations.....

dayton EVO,
I want to clear something up so the guys over at AMS don't get any wrong ideas about what took place. I did bust your ***** for living in Ohio and not running our parts vs. running theirs. You explained to me that the reason you used their parts over ours was we required a buy-in for you shop and they did not. At that point the ball busting I was giving you stopped. I like and get along with the guys very well at AMS so the ball busting was more out of curiousity with you being "right down the road" from us than anything else.
I also said they build great parts and that the low power your car made did not make sense that the car was making as little power as it was.
You asked why we didn't extend the same 4 hour tuning window to you that we did the car that was there before you. Well the reason was the car before you was an EVO9 that takes 19 minutes per reflash that also had some problems. We had no choice in the matter and now have seperate days for Subaru's and EVO9's on our dyno days to keep these seperate.
If I remember correctly I talked you out of upgrading anything else, like the AMS manual boost controller that was suggested to be removed, because from what I was reading on the dyno graph said that you had no boost leaks and that AMS manual controller was doing a fine job. I didn't feel then or now that there was anything further to trouble shoot on the car or we would have. The power was just on the low side.
Sorry you didn't go away with a great experience.

I understand and appreciate the apology, but I take offense to some of the things that occured like the throwing the melted dyno strap and clamp in front of me(which was not my fault) and saying what you did. I can joke and have fun as well, and if I'm comfortable with someone I get get pretty raw. But I don't know you, so therefore I don't know if your serious when you say things. I like your business and would like to keep it that way. As for the power issues, I was not made to understand what was going on other than the little comments you made. My total time on the dyno was I believe 15 minutes and 20 seconds to be exact and 4 runs(5:30:09 PM - 5:45:11 PM). So forgive me if I thought the 1 hour alotted time that I paid for was not utilized to figure this out. I'll remember this if there is a next time and hopefully no bad blood now. I am hardcore businessman and I take my money and my business very seriously when comes to things like this. The car actually belongs to my brother, whom I did him a favor by ordering and installing the parts through my company since I bought him the car.
So all in all, we will see how the car really performs as soon we get it to the track.
Thanks David

Here is what I was talking about in the last page or so.. See the attached picture.. I think no matter what if I don't get a front motor mount I'm just going to keep tearing couplers.

justchil,
Can you do me a favor? Pull the FMIC off the car and send it to us. I am going to modify it so it is like our new Deluxe FMIC. It will only take me a day and I will return it to you.

If I had a box big enough man I would. It would be cool to get it modified to how the new ones are so I can upgrade to the race FMIC and sell this one easily.
I'm trying to pound on it some to get the pipe moved back just a little bit but it isn't working like I thought. I will try to find a box today/tomorrow and ship it up to you. I'll probably end up breaking it if I keep trying to make it fit

Please send it to me, the EVO9 turbo outlet we supply will not work with the old Deluxe FMIC's that have the one piece lower. I'll gladly fix it.

Sorry, but you are wrong about my gas mileage. My gauge is very accurate. I average 150 miles + in the city from a half of a tank of fuel and about 180-185 from the highway. After the parts and tune from AMS, I was getting about 200 miles with less than half a tank(highway mileage that is and ALMOST on the half tank mark). Just leave it at that and don't try to tell me my gauge is off. I keep very accurate mileage logs. Besides, the subject has been resolved.
Have a nice day

I got 27mpg today no problem. That's pretty damn good considering only half was highway and it's not exactly flat here. This was pretty normal driving with probably a half dozen put it to the floor til redline incidents

This was on high boost and with pump gas on alchy
You will note that the TQ does not stay flast at any time
IMHP - on this car the 20 G modification would make the TQ curve longer and broader and make much more area under the curve if not at least 30 whp more also
That is my idea of what the turbo can do

see how the power just falls instead of climbing after like 4600 or what ever. the torque seems normal stock turbo style(really high tho) but ive never seen HP drop after such low rpm.
