Idle Speed Controller (ISC) Problems

After searching I couldn't find a conclusive answer on how to determine if your ISC is faulty or needs resetting.

I just noticed that the car is bogging down when the radiator fans comes on, further testing revealed that it does the same for the AC. I think the culprit is the ISC.

I read somewhere here that sometimes the ISC motor goes out of range and basically needs to be reset. How is that done?

I also read that I could just give it time to fix itself but what if the ISC is faulty? I might be waiting in vain. Is there a test to determine if the ISC is faulty?

Thanks in advance..................

Idle Speed Controller.

It's an ECU driven step motor that controls the idle speed by moving in-out and blocking an air passage.

Buy the shop manual. ISC's are usually tested with a digital multimeter (measuring resistance in Ohms) between the various internal coils. If the resistance is out of spec, you'll have to pay satan boku $ to get a new one.
