VTA BOV works in Evo9
I was having my exhaust installed by mike & corey at AMS today.
They told me on evo9, the new map sensor allows the bov to VTA.
That was some exciting news!!
They said they had a customer with a 9 who had installed turbosmart bov and had no idle problem, leak, or anything!
Evo9 just holds boost like a champ with VTA BOVs.
I will try to install my Greddy type S bov and VTA it to see how that works out.

It is a FULL vta bov. It comes with a plug for the return tube in the intake. I honestly haven't heard another bov that was as loud and sounded as good as a blitz on a evo. Well turbo xs rfl is loud.. but really damn obnoxious.

They said you can VTA any bov completely 100%, 50/50 also works, recir also works. So no more need for dual port BOVs for us 9 owners~
Just VTA the S$%T out of that thing

???? I think that was with the old blitz.. I have hit 21 pounds numerous times on autometer gauge and my timer.. Never had any problems... Come on if they only hold 18 pounds why would they make em for evo's when every one is hittin at least 18??

What an awful thread. First of all, that is not AMS. They are only known as AMS locally to DC. The AMS everyone here knows is Automotorsports. When you PM'd me, I asked if you meant Automotorsports, and you said yes, but no, this is Atlantic Motorsports. AMS on here has the fastest Evo in the US. AMSTuning has a couple of show cars. There is nothing special that allows VTA. It still is going to release metered air that has already been accounted for by the MAF. There is absolutely NO REASON TO DO IT, and it is very disconcerting to see this thread. We don't need more ricey Evos; we need less.
You said "why not take full advantage of it"? Full advantage of what? Making obnoxious noises like 2F2F while not even knowing what effect it's having between shifts when the ECU provides fuel designed for the amount of metered air it saw originally at the MAF? What testing has AMS done other than to show that the idle isn't affected? There has been no racing at a drag strip or road course by them to prove this.
