it would be safer to run 950 or 1000cc inejctors and have a much lower injector duty cycle.

Ideally, you want to size an injector such that it's running around 90% duty at max power. Typically this means you're running around it's published capacity at max power.

A ball type injector, such as Lucas (FIC) runs very efficiently right up to the end.

Ok so they would be enough for a 30R but not for the 35R.

They'd be fine for most 35R applications. Even if they are rated at 90% IDC, you wouldn't run out of injector until you were well over 600bhp.
