Vishnu/Axiom Feb 25th Dyno day results!

Didnt know if I should post this in the Vishnu forum or here, so mods please move to Shivs forum if everyone feels that is where it should go. Anyway, first off I wanted to say that everyone at Axiom Motorsports (Dynapack) was very professional and courteous when it came to our Evo's, and I think its because most of the staff have Evo's themselves!! So you all rock (Cloud, June, etc) and thanks to Shiv who really got some excellent power out of my Evo, which now feels scary! Thank you very much Shiv.

My mods for 06 EVO MR with 1000 miles on the clock:
- 2.75" Blitz DP coated from Performance Coatings
- Helix HFC
- Skunk2 3" Catback
- 94 octane (which Shiv tells me he didnt even add much timing to the map)

Baseline with exhaust = 267.5whp - 266ft/lbs
After Shivs ECUTEK Flash = 330whp - 335ft/lbs (edited! thanks Shiv)

Here is my graph, I just got back from Kinkos!!

So, Cloud actually does work there, huh. I guess he was lying about not working there. Thanks for the info.

Huge power gains for no MBC, a smaller-than-3" DP, and just a HFC. It's kinda strange to have so little torque yet so much HP. I don't know how to explain that, but those are some big gains nonetheless.

Actually Cloud said he was only shadowing or interning there, I dont think he like, gets benefits and stuff hehe.... he was "working" there yesterday though and doing a damn good job along with everyone else in the shop. I dont want to get into anyone elses arguments either, so Cloud I'm sorry if I said you "worked" there and please leave me out of this!!! LOL!!! I only meant to say thanks.

For the torque, Im interested to see what everyone else got... I've only seen whp #'s so far. Maybe its just how the dyno was reading or maybe I did my math wrong...? Or maybe my boost just wasnt spiking enough, I never did ask Shiv what it peaked at.

His calculated torque numbers are off. His math is off Looks like he based the numbers from the tractive effort numbers shown the screen (1341 and 1535). It should be (looking at the graph) 1341 and 1688 instead. That's computes out to 335lb-ft, which occurs at ~4400rpm.

To confirm, just plug in the numbers: torque (335) x RPM (4400) divided by 5250. And you get 280whp at ~4400rpm which is indeed confirmed by the hp graph. QED!

Thanks, Shiv. I didn't realize he was trying to calculate the numbers. However, it shouldn't hit peak torque at 4400rpm. It should be around 3700-3800, if not earlier on a IX. Was the 335 just not peak, but rather after peak? Either way, it's a lot of power.

thanks for clearing that up guys. Yea, the car feels like a raped ape!!!! I cant stop driving it.... the motor feels "lighter" thats all I can use to describe it. It revs very cleanly and freely. Hope I dont get a ticket....

It made a peak torque number of 335lb-ft at 4400rpm. It made close to that (~330lb-fts) at just 3100rpm judging by the graph. But the definition of "peak" is the highest point in the entire graph. And things can get interesting when you are trying to pull a peak number out of a flat section of the torque curve. If you do 10 runs, I'm sure max torque numbers will occur anywhere between 3000 and 4500rpm, depending on run-to-run variation.

Squeezing power out of the IXs is a snap with the right tools. Cloud's EVO (similar to this one but with the only real power adder being a test-pipe) car made as high as 365whp before being tuned back down to 350whp. All of this is on 92oct pump gas.

To calculate the "real" torque take the torque number and divide it by the ratio number.

I see that your still on my nuts Warrtalon,
I've been banned for like 5 days now and your still
talking about me, every chance you get. Oh well, once you had it once
You keep coming back for it. Hope Shiv doesn't kill me.... lol
I guess every chance equals once then? You got banned for comments just like this, so I will be sure to make sure you get banned even longer. Hopefully, Shiv doesn't catch flack from the mods for you speaking in such a manner after being banned for that exact reason. Shiv, you shouldn't let tools like that use your account.

Please let it go and give it a rest. I think we all have something to learn about on-line provocations.

boostedwrx-- Don't worry.. we'll be back on topic soon enough

On topic now

All numbers on this dyno our SAE corrected. Uncorrected, would have been higher since the outside temp is roughly 40-45 degrees w/ a baro of 29 in-Hg.

Now, I just need to fix my leaky wastegate so my turbo will spool faster.

Right on J (from Portland )! I bet you can certainly feel that 100whp increase with 100 octane!
