Problems with Magnacore wires
Has anyone had problems with the Magnacore 8.5 wires? As far as them fitting over the plugs securely. I had to go back to the stock wires and was just wondering if I had just gotten a poor fitting set.

I would just stay with the stock plugs because a lot of the aftermarket ones restrict your boost by not firing right. I have two buddys that had that problem and had to go back to there stock plugs

I've ran 8.5 mm magnacores on my DSM's 4G63 for years. I eventually switched back to stock (ngk). The 8.5mm have a larger wire diameter which has a smaller resistance and theoretically it will yield a larger spark, which arguably will burn more fuel and produce more power. On actual dyno runs no one has seen any real difference in power however. There is nothing wrong with using low resistance wires, but running them for performance reasons to me is foolish. I switched back to stock because the rubber boots kept falling off and sticking to the coil pack. This annoyed me so I just bought a stock set. I noticed no difference what so ever. The magnacore's main advertised benefit is their thick cable jacket, and their ability to cope with electronic interference (not being disturbed by electronic noise caused by other devices on the car).

magnecores have been known to have fitment issues and some reliability issues. I run stock wires currently with over 700 whp and no issues. I would try the Ralliarts but don't see a need for it at the moment.
