Just as a side note, overall the 6 speed MR transmissions are weaker than their 5 speed counter-parts. The gear ratios are smaller and cannot put up with the stress as much as the taller 5 speed gears. Don't believe me? Ask Shepard why he doesn't rebuild mr tranny's.

In my opinion, any car high powered car that is repeatedly pounded on a daily basis will have worn syncro's. Don't like the fact that your shifting sucks? You shouldn't have driven it so hard. What can you do about it:
1.) Rebuild tranny
2.) trying using better tranny fluid

I don't know if this helps but I just got back from a test drive with 06 RS and 05 VIII and the tranny in the RS blew away the box in the VIII(sorry not the MR).I had couple missed shifts and gave up a couple times downshifting
