ill effects of useing a 4"-3" on turbo?
guys, im having a problem getting my intake modified for my install. so i went and bought a 4"-3" plumbing reducer. is this going to hurt the turbo at all? i know its a stupid ?, but i gotta ask. i know it will hurt the performace and spool but this only temparary fix till the intake is modded to 4". thanx guys. oh, it a gt35r with 4" surge cover.

well i dont really know, but from what ive read about airflow, going from smaller (3in intake) to 4" (turbo inlet) wont be that bad. I would imagine u might loose some power if you have huge hp. Dont quote me on that tho, because i have no real world experience.

3" will work fine. Making a 4" intake work w/ the stock fan and MAF is quite a challenge. I had a 4" on my GT3076 and have moved to a 3" w/ my RX6 turbo. Even Buschur has shown that it makes no difference. The inducer of a GT35R is 61mm (2.41"). Anything bigger then that should be acceptable.

thank for input guys. i kink of figured it would ok. besides the injen is 3" and without the surge shroud the turbo inlet would be 3" also. lots of cursing and busted knuckles for me tomarrow.
