Talking GT-42R? or leave alone?

Check out this thread http://www.hostlynx.com/evo.html
Do you guys think I should stab in a 42r?
I`m worried about drivability with such a MONSTER
I already have -8 fuel line n 2 pumps,would that be enough w/1480cc injectors?
4g63 is fully built 2.3 w/280 Comp Cams,T-67 w/.82ar,75 shot NOS,4"open,2"open
wastegate,ATS n Quaife. As you can see Turbo Gurus, she`s built.Do you think I should go for it?

With the stroker motor I think it may be worthless except for a dyno queen. You wont be able to rev it high enough to take any advantage of that size turbo.... the turbo would spool in the mid 5's and you would let off at 8.5 vs high 5s- low 6s reving to 10k.

The -8 lines are also technically too small if you want to nitpick. You will need -10 if you plan on running more than 700 or so.

The injectors would hold it fine I would think.

It depends on what two fuel pumps you have and how they are laid out. If you are using the stock pickup tube its not the greatest idea.

42R is too big IMO unless you are going for a all out drag car.

.
Well, AMS is revving the black customer's 2.3 car to 9000. Also, when they were only taking it to 8500 (which Im pretty sure has been deamed safe) it was still making more power with the the 2.0. Not to mention the HUGE spool-up difference.

However, I will say the GT42R is for straight up drag racing, period. I think the GT37 would make you much happier, its making great power over the GT35 and the extra lag is supposively worth it... and with a 2.3 youre all set!

What is the primary use of the vehicle? If it is mainly a street driven vehicle I wouldn't recomend it, unless you are nutty like me.

Gt37 is very laggy though, I'd think a 35R was plenty especially if you already have nitrous. A good turbo might be a PT67 GTS too. thats a lil bigger then a 35R but still not so large that it will never spool.

a gt45 is not too big, it would be pretty easy to daily drive it due to the lag and as long as your rev limiter is set fairly high, you can still take full advantage of the turbo. It would be like having a honda engine with the 6k vtec engagement times like 10.

Are you building a race car or a dyno car? Have you run the car at the track with these numbers yet to see what it does?

I don't think a GT42R is too big, people keep saying that GT42R is strictly for drag racing, but the AMS tuned customer's EVO with this turbo rarely if ever drag races, he mostly takes out highly modified V8s on the streets. So I think the GT42R Turbo could be used on the streets and be fun. I don't see no reason why you couldn't go with a GT42R, your car is built strong enough, and you seem to have the income to afford the turbo and maintentance of such a turbo. I mean you shouldn't and I doubt you ever intend to drive this car daily, so why not have a car in your arsenal that makes 800WHP+ for fun, for the sport of it, isn't that what all of this about. Honestly do you need 800WHP, but then again, do we EVO owners need 300WHP? 350WHP? It's all in fun, if you have the ability to further your love, to make more power, why not?

i wouldn't do it if you drive the car everyday in traffic, ill venture to say yud wanna put a gun in your mouth.

37r is pretty badass and you only have to swap the turbo, not THE WHOLE KIT.

thats just my opinion though, take it with salt.
