Thumbs up My Buschur Racing GT35R daily driver results

My car is equipped with what you see in my sig. What I didn’t post:

-Forge front motor mount
-NGK BPR8ES

NUMBERS:
93/alky - 363.4 HP, 310.1 tq @24 psi
C16 - 414.5 HP, 355.5 tq @28 psi

I’m still running the stock block, stock head, stock t/b and intake manifold with NO modification on 93 octane pump gas with denatured alky.

I was up in the air on what turbo kit to get. The two choices I was contemplating were the 20G9 and of course the GT35R. I emailed Dave back and forth with questions on what would be a good setup, how bad is lag on the GT35R and what not. Dave answered all the questions in a timely manner, thanks Dave. He actually tried to talk me out of the GT35R when I was finally coming to a decision. Boy am I glad I stuck with my choice. I think the turbo lag is overrated. Guys who have PM’d me asking about the kit have heard this already from me. Here are a couple of post by Dave on the tune he did with my car: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&postcount=116 , https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&postcount=120 .

Dave was very impressed with the out come, saying this was the quickest spooling GT35R he has tuned. The car screams when it hits boost. I was hoping to see what it would do at the track before I posted this but it rained . Daily driving is not bad at all with this kit. I got 26 mpg on the way home from the shop last Friday. I just filled up with mostly city driving with the occasional boost and netted 17 mpg. My car most of the time will be run on 93/alky @ 24 psi. It may see a couple of race gas runs when our local club rents out Norwalk, Dave and Jarrod you guys are invited to this. I'll also make runs out here but my work schedule changes so often it's hard to make some runs.

Dave thank you for the time you put into tuning the car . As always it's pleasure doing business with you and everyone else up there. And I'd like to thank my wife for being understanding .

Sorry I don't have any pics of the install but I have the finished product.

The thumb says it all.

Build your stupid motor, get another walbro, some bigger injectors, a stage III buschur head, or equivalent...AND RUN 35 PSI RIGHT NOW BEFORE I HATE YOU.

Other than that congrats...and have fun.

So that means that at that boost level the 20g-9 makes more power than this $4000 turbo kit. Did David agree that those #'s are abotu right for your mods/boost/octane ?

There isn't a customer car with a 20g-9 that makes more power. and the turbo kit is $3k

Edit* davids car is the only car that has achieved more....but need i say more than "davids car".

That thing has got to be a beast to drive! Plus I don't think you need much more for a daily driver.

That's a lot of overkill on a huge turbo kit to not have your internals built. Weird.... mising a LOT of power and spent a LOT.

Missing a lot of power? That's like 479 WHP pump/alky and 550 WHP C16 on a Dynojet. Those numbers seem great to me.

The numbers are fine and when you look at a 100% maxed out stock turbo with all of the fixins usual dynos at 290-300whp on Buschur's dyno making 363whp at 24psi is solid. Remember Dave's RS trapped 124mph when it dynoed at 360whp, so the car should be around that and close or over 130mph on race gas.

Good job and keep us posted.
