Both cars are pretty much the same drivetrain wise. Here's Al's mod list - Big Al's Mod List

with a car that hits boost at 5k or higher....whats it like driving around normally, boring under normal driving conditions? not saying the stock turbo is better...or anything near..but i like having full boost so soon, the car feels like its always ready to fly.... any input?

Correction: There are a lot of people that SAY that they drive cars like this on a daily basis.
A stock evo will make more power than you until about 5 or 6k. The Evo is NOT A DRAG CAR. It's made to handle and turning it into a single use car kind of kills it, IMO. But, enjoy.

I could go on and on and on, but I'll quit I don't want to hijack the thread too much. Awesome cars and I can't wait for track times instead of roll races!!

In a drag enviroment laggy doesn't matter in everything else it does except "***" racing, so unless racing from 60mph rolls is all you care about bigger doesn't always mean better.
My advice do some real racing and take it to the track!!

Everyone always says "the GT35R doesnt hit FULL boost until 5000 RPM". So what if you're only at 15 psi at 3500. Even though a stock evo would be at 21 psi at 3500, I'd give up 6 pounds of boost at 3500 to be at 35 psi at 5000 RPM any day.

Some people (like you) are fans of the track, and build their evo for the track. In which case, you are also building a 'single use' vehicle. Some build for the drag strip, some for the track. Any heavily modified race car has to have a direction, and if you can get a 8 second drag car out of an Evo you can't say 'its not meant for that'.
Point being, the Evo is a great platform that you can build in many directions with and do very well in whichever road you pick.
