2 900hp Evo's in the Buschur stable.....

We recently finished up Big Al's car and it is going to be a beast. He is now running a full custom BR 3.5" turboback exhaust, custom upper IC piping and front mount, tubular style exhaust manifold, GT42R, and a bunch of go fast goodies.

We also recently switched our black Evo over to a 42R once we seen what the difference was with Al's car and the 45R that we were currently running. If you would like to check out the dyno sheet CLICK HERE

Very clean setup, I especially like that 3.5" exhaust. Time to hit the tracks and lay down some record times

So in your opinion is the 42R better than the larger 45R? Is the 45R just too big?

That would be my guess seeing that the black Evo is a 2.0,
If you watch the Swytzer dyno vid you can see how long the throttle body is open before boost hits

yeah, but on the dyno sheet the car still had plenty of powerband. nothing seems like it spools fast when you go full throttle at 2500rpms in 3rd gear.....seems like an eternity.

makes you wonder what's holding the AMS car back.

Well, I am not a engine builder or world renound tuner but, just from the size of this turbo it may have been wishfull thinking but, I am sure that we are dont with it yet...............

How does that car feel on the road?

I'm planning on getting a stroker kit / turbo upgrade down the road.

Looking at the dyno sheets -

@ 4600rpm you have ~ 200 ft lbs tqr.
@ 5300rpm you start to ramp up quickly.
@ 7400rpm you achieve max trq

Which drops off to about 450 ft lbs trq till redline.

To be honest with you this is my first turbocharged car - I don't notice much lag because of my relative stock setup - I'd assume you just keep the revs up at the track etc...

I'm planning on going with a 2.3l kit with the GT40R turbo. I like its effeciency range and decent/great spool up characteristcs...

Im not sure where you got decent/great spoolup from

It hits peak boost at or very near 7k. I really doubt you would hit full boost in first or second gear running it to 9k.

You're really going all out like that? Such a setup would not be much fun on the street even with the stroker. You plan on doing highly-competitive drag racing in the future?

I think youd be happier with teh GT35R. I read in a mag where Al put on the 40R (replacing the 35R) and he gained no power...

Al, did gain, but just not enough 761whp with the 40R and trapspeeds went to the low 140's, but the E.T was no better.

Quick question regarding the sheets I'm hoping I'm just reading this wrong, but Al's car made 760whp, but spools up significantly later than the 2.0? What am I missing here?
