Question Maf Problem HELP HELP PLEASE

Hey guys a while ago i installed an intake by myself. when I took the Maf from the stock airbox, the little honey comb grill in the maf got really damaged. So, what i did was just straight it out as much as i can but it still was really crooked. Anyways i still have it that way and i wanted to know if that was robbing power. I talked to mitsubishi and a new MAF would cost around 400 dollars. are there any other alternatives? can anyone sell me their used one maybe? THanks guys

Yes, it can have a significant impact on performance. Stop by and we can swap yours out with a known good one and see if that helps.

Wow, this just happened to me too. Except I'm stuck in Iraq, and my wife tried to mess with the intake, damaging the MAF. Aparently it screwed the car up, wouldn't run, idled like ****. Basically acting the same as if the uicp blew off. Of course by the time I find out about this she has already taken it to the dealer, and they are charging around $1000 to fix that, plus an improper oil change by some local oil place. Arghh that sucks, I could have saved a fricken wad! Women...
