the 3065 will make more top-end than the 3076 but spool a lil bit faster than the 35r....considering how a lot of tuners are saying take the 35r because the lag is almost as bad with less topend on the 3076 , the 3065 seems like a good compromise.
378whp... how much psi was he running? What system did he use to tune his car? You think that the stock turbo will out flow a 3076? Look at all the variables at hand before making your assumption. I made this on a flash! I dont think that the stock turbo can hold 27+psi till redline.

This turbo sounds like a 3040 to me, correct me if I am wrong.

3040, 3082, 3065 all the same turbo just different names. Technically, the HKS 3040 has a slightly different inducer.

I want to know the same answer... I am looking for the quickest spooling turbo that will put me around 500WHP. I know the 35R can go past that what does the spool of the fp3065 look like? You know what.... I think I am at the point of saying the hell with spool... Go Big or Go Home! LOL

Go get a 50Trim. Turbo Trixx recently got near 500WHP on race gas and 450WHP pump, best tuebo for your needs.

I think a 3076 is closer to what the hitman needs, if a 50 trim is just getting close on race gas, and not over, I would prefer to go to a slightly larger turbo and not be pushing it to its extremes.

But wouldn't the spool on a 3076 be slightly better then a 35r? If the difference is only slight then I might as well go with the 35r. To have that extra power potential already there. I am willing to give up a few 100 rpm in spool for big power.

I just got my 3065 tuned this weekend and I hit full boost of 21psi on 93 at 3700 rpm. I am picking the car up later tonight.

I'll see if there is a dyno printout. It was dyno at four star performance in ontario, ca. I was expecting full spool to be at 4400ish and I was pleasantly surprised. I have a ton of supporting mods which probably helped.

Dont be shy! List them. The supporting mods are the most important part!

I call bs. on that. Unless you have some major displacement and/or higher compression ratio, I don't see 21psi by 3700rpms, maybe 4k if not more. I'm just saying because I have experience; i'm running the FP3065 with all the supporting mods incl. cams and whatnot- full spool (~26psi) is near 4500rpms on my Eclipse and once it hits a solid number boost jumps up FAST.

To the original poster its simple as this. Do you want a hwy car or a street car?

Hwy= T4 35R...3065 with .83 a/r.
Street= 50trim with .63 a/r.... GT3076

I ran the 50trim internally gated prior to my 3065 and had full spool *25psi* by 3600rpms, it was the most fun street turbo i've ever run *and i've run a quite a few turbo setups on my eclipse* Switching up to the 3065 I gained massive top end & lost tq down low, & it wasn't as fun around the street when street light to street light mattered. Thats until I activated the anti-lag (isn't that great on turbo seals) & NTLS via my EMS.

Remember you dont have to follow the bandwagon. If I were you i'd go for a Evo9-20G, that'll probably take you less time to spool and provide just about the same power all the while bolting onto your stock manifold/lines/pipes w/a lil fabbing of the LICP.

I dont think some people who have posted understand what this turbo really is. It's a custom turbo built by Forced-Performance. It has a GT35R compressor wheel and compressor housing mated to a custom-built Forced-Performance Turbine Housing with a GT30 turbine wheel. It is not a regular stock Garret turbo (GT35R, GT3071R, GT3076R) because it DOES NOT use a Garret turbine housing.
