Can the BR Bullet be hushed?
Guys, I'm wondering if an aggressive cat-back such as the BR Bullet muffler setup will retain most of it's stock quietness due to the still-present cat, or is there a way to "hush" exhausts like this (extra resonator or something) to eliminate the highway "drone." I watched the clip of the recording from Buschur, but I believe that was a full 3" TBE with test pipe.
I've done the full TBE before, and the noise level was less than well accepted in my office complex. Any ideas from the testers/owners?

No, there isn't a way to "hush" it. The bullet muffler is quieter than the previous version, so if you can't handle that as a cat-back with a stock cat and stock downpipe, you should probably just not get an exhaust. I have a full 3" Megan with a test pipe and a louder muffler, but it doesn't bother me on the highway while cruising.
I can't imagine how cruising at 5mph in the parking lot can cause your office complex to complain. That is very, very strange.

Any exhaust that focusses purely on performance is gonna be loud. Period. If you want quiet, you dont want anything with a small muffler drum. There is no exhaust out there that is quieter than that busher bullet muffler that will give you more horsepower. So, one has to make up his/her mind when choosing an exhaust. A quiet one, or a strictly performance system.

Actually, my office is in the back of the business complex, and it takes a couple of minutes at 5-10 mph (slowing for and accelerating from speed bumps) just to get the the rear (even skirting the complex --- there are around 45 different vendor offices in here).
My last exhaust (full BR 3' TBE w/magnaflow and test pipe) generated the familiar "buuurrrrrRRRRAAAAAATTTTT" after each speed bump. I loved the performance, but caught enough flack from pissed office patrons to rethink my strategy. I'm definitely thinking about the Bullet --- per or last discussion --- but was just trying to get an idea for the expected noise level.
If you know of a slightly quieter option, that would yield similar gains with a flash, let's hear it.

I kept my cat and my car is super quiet. The exhaust note has a lot of bass but there is no raspy sound to it. You will sacrifice topend to keep the noise levels down. I am not a "power hungry" person and my car pulls quite nicely.
I am still running the stock cat on a 2.3l stroker and I don't miss anything.

Interesting . . . . so if one needed a quiet catback (NOT full TBE), in order not to anger the Warranty gods, and needed it to look good with the JDM rear, what catbacks would you suggest?
