the exedy was by far the greatest clutch on earth
Could you be more specific about what you preferred about the Exedy over the ACT?

Is it ok to drive around and baby the car? Or should i leave it in the garage till i get enough money to replace it.
My clutch started slipping 3 weeks ago and as long as you as you stay outta the boost like previously recomended you'll be ok. I even abused it last weekend thinking I'd have my new clutch in earlier this week and it's still driveable, BARELY, but driveable.

$1500 for a twin disk that can hold more power, launch harder, shift smoother, withstand more abuse, and includes a lightened flywheel is worth it...
They make 2100, 2600, 2900, and possibly others. Also, I assure you I am in my right mind. I've had my 2100 clutch for 3 years and 60K miles now. Last fall it held a 126.8mph pass so I decided to keep it for this year but replaced the stock disc with one from another manufacturer because I wanted to try something new. It held a dozen passes on the slicks at the track, about 12 street tuning passes, and 20 or so non slick tuning passes. Then I raised the boost to 32 psi and layed into it in 4th gear and it shook, shuddered, and then blew off. I have no complaints, that was enough power for a 130+ pass on a 3 year old abused pressure plate that no doubt probably acts more like a 1900 lb plate due to the heat.

So what am I doing, putting in an ACT 2900 PP. You just can't beat the relibility, cost, and smoothness of these units. I like composite discs a lot!

I'll go back to your disc when I wear this other one out. Its not that I hate the disc that I have now, it just needs to get warm to work. I've done second gear launches, sidestep full boost slips on the highway, and tons of other stupid things and your disc just loves it. Sorry I couldn't get a 130+ pass on the 2100 though .

We wont use anything but ACT ... awesome clutch.. Customers love it .. no rattle noises when clutch depressed. ACT has lead the DSM market for years and years, and the evo is no different..

The stock flywheels are very good for a stock part. Mitsu uses the right materials (not gray iron) so they are safe and even if raced/overheated/thrashed they are not going to blow up. The stock flywheel is pretty thin behind the disc though so if you tend to abuse the clutch the stock flywheel is more prone to warpage than one of ours, especially our Streetlite version which is 50% thicker behind the disc. Just make sure that whoever resurfaces the stock flywheel does a good job. I am always leary about other people's work, because I have seen shops ruin perfectly good parts by "rebuilding" them. But there are other shops that do awesome work.

stay out of boost, slow on the gas, and keep it in lower gears for less load
